BALLOON-POWERED CAR After the STEM course I took in Prague within the scope of Balikesir Provincial Directorate of National Education Erasmus Accreditation, we are focusing on STEM projects with my students and other students at school. We will work with my 2nd grade 8-year-old students in the activity we will hold within the scope of Erasmus Day. Children who love skateboarding will be asked how a skateboard moves and brainstormed. They will be made to realize that we apply backward force to the ground with our feet while riding a skateboard. Then, students will design balloon-powered cars using recycled materials. The designed cars will be raced in the schoolyard. The students will be asked the following questions: 1-Did your car move? 2-If it did, in which direction did it move and why did it move in that direction? 3-If it didn’t, where do you think there might have been a problem? How about trying again? MATERIALS Body:PET bottle,cardboard box Wheel:4 bottle caps or round objects, 2 long straws or pencils or straws, 1 balloon, 1 straw, tape, glue, rubber Z library, school garden
