On October 17, from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, the University of Bari (UniBa) will host a workshop on museum storytelling using the izi.TRAVEL platform as part of the DCH PUGLIA SKILLS LAB project. The event will feature various case studies showcasing successful applications of digital storytelling in museums, with a special presentation from representatives of the Civic Museum of Castello Ursino in Catania, who will share their expertise and best practices in utilizing storytelling to enhance the museum experience. A highlight of the workshop will be the presentation of the ERASMUS+ Project “Integrated STEM Education with an Interactive Digital Library for Curious Kids” CURIKIDS (https://curikids.eu), which serves as a compelling example of how digital storytelling can be harnessed to create impactful educational experiences for children, especially in STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). Through interactive and engaging stories, CURIKIDS also demonstrates the potential for sectoral museums to move beyond traditional learning methods and embrace digital tools to foster curiosity and learning in younger audiences. In this event, the project example will exemplify how museums can adopt innovative strategies to make learning more accessible and exciting for children by integrating digital narratives into their exhibitions. It underscores the role of digital storytelling as a tool for enhancing museum visits and as a bridge between education and culture, offering a dynamic way to introduce complex concepts to children in an engaging manner. The workshop aims to explore these concepts and provide participants with practical insights into how digital storytelling platforms like izi.TRAVEL can revolutionize how museums communicate with their audiences, using the CURIKIDS project as a model of excellence in educational innovation.
