As part of our European Culinary Festival Week, we aim to creatively integrate European topics into the curriculum. Two media design classes will develop a three-course menu in their Applied Project and Catering Management course, reflecting the culinary diversity of Europe. From Monday to Thursday, a different EU country will be highlighted each day, with traditional dishes from that country prepared and served by other classes in the school kitchen. The week will conclude on Friday with a standing buffet, showcasing dishes from additional European countries. In addition, the students will create informational posters about the countries, their national dishes, and the EU, which will be displayed throughout the week in the school restaurant to enhance knowledge about the diversity of the EU. At the end of the week, the media design students will produce a brochure summarizing all the menus, country information, and general facts about the EU. This brochure will be distributed at parent-teacher conferences, school fairs, and open house events to showcase the project and promote European values. This project engages many classes and encourages intercultural exchange. The students not only learn how to prepare dishes but also gain a greater appreciation for Europe’s cultural diversity. Additionally, they strengthen their teamwork and organizational skills. The initiative aligns perfectly with the Erasmus+ program, as it promotes intercultural competence and provides a practical and engaging way to foster European solidarity and understanding.
