Erasmus Days Event “Food Festival: European Desserts and Cultural Exploration” This event aims to celebrate Erasmus Days by exploring the rich culinary traditions of Europe, focusing on desserts. Through interactive activities, students will learn about different European countries, their traditional desserts, and the cultural significance of food. Event Goals: • To increase awareness of European cultures through their culinary heritage. • To engage students in a fun, educational experience that connects food, geography, and language. • To foster curiosity and intercultural understanding among students. Activities: 1. Matching Desserts with Flags: Students will be presented with a variety of traditional European desserts and will match them to the corresponding country flags. 2. Finding Countries on the Map: After identifying the countries associated with the desserts, students will locate them on a map of Europe, learning more about geography. 3. Saying “Bon Appétit” in Different Languages: Students will learn how to say “Bon Appétit” or its equivalent in various European languages, enhancing their language skills. 4. Kahoot Game: Students will participate in an interactive Kahoot quiz, testing their knowledge of the desserts, countries, and languages they’ve learned about during the project. This fun, competitive game will engage students and reinforce what they’ve learned in an exciting way. 5. Menu Creation: The project will conclude with the creation of a digital or physical recipe book, featuring all the desserts explored during the event. This event offers a dynamic and engaging way to celebrate Erasmus Days by combining food, geography, and language learning to deepen students’ connection to European cultures.
