“It’s Time for Science” is much more than just a festival: it is a place where science comes to life, not only through formulas and theorems but also through the sound of a melody, the emotion of a film, the telling of a story, and the fun of a game. Here, science becomes a bridge that connects generations, cultures, and people, tangibly realizing the goals of the 2030 Agenda. The festival takes place in the vibrant heart of the San Donato-San Vitale district of Bologna, a neighborhood that resembles a small town (almost a little village within the city) characterized by its multiculturalism, many young immigrant families, and numerous children—a hub of cultures and a crossroads of customs, habits, and traditions, making it one of the largest and most lively areas of the city. Through a rich and varied schedule, each event is designed to bring the public closer to different scientific disciplines, from the most classical to the most innovative, with unexpected and original approaches. There are events planned for the youngest attendees, moments dedicated to families, and spaces for reflection for adults, where science intertwines with cinema, music, theater, and educational activities. The participation of scientific influencers and YouTubers is not just an accessory: they are the new communicators, capable of capturing attention with their skillful wordplay. Using modern communication techniques, they manage to transform complex concepts into engaging stories, sparking curiosity and making science accessible to everyone, regardless of age or cultural background. In this context, “It’s Time for Science” is not just an event but a transformative experience aimed at making a deep impact on the community. The festival stimulates curiosity, promotes inclusion, and contributes to building a more aware and sustainable future.
